ASTM International UAE Chapter co-hosts Webinar with AWS

The ASTM International UAE Chapter and the American Welding Society (AWS) teamed up to host a Webinar on the ASTM/AWS Standards and Codes Related to Steel Bars for Concrete Reinforcement. This was the first-ever joint event for the two societies to highlight important technical information about steel reinforcement specifications and aspects related to the AWS structural welding code.

Reinforcement steel bars (also called rebar) are used to improve properties of tension and structural strength when used in concrete.  Some grades of rebar can be welded, while others may not.  Rebar will only serve its purpose if certain practices and standards are followed.

This Webinar was specially designed for architects, engineers, and specifiers. The program focused on the minimum design requirements that ensure that a system of concrete reinforcement works well.
